If you don’t know already, Webkinz are small stuffies that virtually live in the online Webkinz World. Each Webkinz stuffy comes with a tag that includes a secret code that lets you adopt your pet online. I hear people saying these days that kids are addicted to Webkinz World and lots of the press seem to focus on the negatives. I believe there are some good points about the game.

Kids can do a lot of things online with their animals. They can exercise and feed them and spend time with their Webkinz. Kids are aware of how happy their Webkinz are by checking their health and hunger meters online. I like this aspect of the game. It teaches kids how to be responsible.

Kids can also create rooms for their Webkinz, buy food and clothes for their pets. They make these purchases with KinzCash which they earn by plaing online Webkinz games. I like this too. It teaches kids to be creative and also teaches them some money management skills.

This games certainly has a lot of pluses. I guess some kids could get carried away with the game. It’s just a sign of enthusiasm.
